19 Haitian and International Groups Call on Obama Administration to Cease Pressure on Haiti to “Arbitrarily Change” Election Results 

19 Haitian and international policy and legal groups and human rights organizations called on the Obama administration to "cease supporting the OAS Verification Mission recommendations," something they consider "an attempt to arbitrarily change the results of the elections and force the people of Haiti to accept an election …that do[es] not express [their] will."

Haiti Government Directed to Stop Evictions without Safe Shelter for Earthquake Survivors

This week, the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR) directed the Haitian State to stop evicting earthquake survivors from displacement camps unless they are provided safe and adequate shelter. Advocates to Testify About Forced Evictions in Haiti

Human rights advocates are set to testify before the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights next Tuesday about what they say are unlawful forced evictions in that country. The groups claim that hundreds of camps have been threatened with eviction or actually evicted as people purporting to be land owners stake claim to the land.
